## Overview

“Resources” or “Knowledge Hub” as it is otherwise known, is an app dedicated to housing useful resource materials for employees to access on the shop floor. This could be training guides, marketing materials, company wide-announcements, etc.

## Managing resources

All resources are uploaded and hosted in a dedicated Amazon S3 bucket, which in turn makes the file(s) available within the RetailOS platform via the ‘Resources’ hub tile.

Using a pre-defined folder structure within S3, we can configure the files to be store or region (i.e. a collection of stores within a region) specific. 

For multi-brand retailers (e.g. a retail group) we can also separate files by brand.

> ⚠️ From an administrative overhead perspective we recommend against store specific resources, especially if you have a large number of stores to manage.

## Viewing resources

Once we have added your file(s) to S3 these should automatically display within the ‘Resources’ app. Next to each file, you will see the file's name and an option to view the file.

If you’re accessing RetailOS on a desktop, selecting to view a file will open it in a new tab (video files will be automatically downloaded to your device), and on mobile, this will open the file in-app.

> 📝 Supported file types include: JPG, PNG, PDF, Excel, Word, .MOV, .MP4
