## Product Summary

Retailers can provide a short product summary that helps convey the product's key benefits to the customer.

> ℹ️ The product `summary` supports markdown formatted text (e.g bold, italics, bullet-points, paragraphs, links etc.)

> 📝 Product search runs across a sub-set of the most relevant product data fields, including the product `summary` - with this mind it's worth including keywords in this field that will help make the product more discoverable. More information on product search can be found [here](https://redantdigital.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RET/pages/346587176).

### Size Guide

Retailers can provide an accompanying size guide with each product which helps ensure the customer is informed when making a decision on which size they wish to purchase.

You can expect to see a reduction in return orders as a result of people ordering sizes that fit them.

> ℹ️ The product `productSizeGuide` supports markdown formatted text (e.g bold, italics, bullet-points, paragraphs, links etc.)

> ℹ️ The product `productCareInstructions` supports markdown formatted text (e.g bold, italics, bullet-points, paragraphs, links etc.)

## Details

Retailers can provide longer, more descriptive product details which can be used to house useful information such as key features, ingredients, allergy information, etc.

> ℹ️ The product `description` supports markdown formatted text (e.g bold, italics, bullet-points, paragraphs, links etc.)

> 📝 Product search runs across a sub-set of the most relevant product data fields, including the product `description` - with this mind it's worth including keywords in this field that will help make the product more discoverable. More information on product search can be found [here](https://redantdigital.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RET/pages/346587176).

## Online Availability

Within the product variant data, it’s possible to provide an indication of whether the product is available to purchase online.

Online availability can be set to 3 possible statuses:

- Available online
- Low stock online
- Unavailable online

![image](media://46354258-901a-4a29-83e2-559cd623e378)

## Find In Other Stores

Subject to stock levels being provided in the product data, sales associates can use the **Find in Other Stores** functionality to check the availability of a selected product variant across other store locations.

After selecting a variant and choosing **Find in Other Stores**, a list of stores that carry the product is displayed, along with the availability status of that specific variant at each location.

> ℹ️ Stores can be ordered:
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ - Alphabetically
> ℹ️ - By stock availability (In Stock, Low Stock, Out of Stock)
> ℹ️ - By distance from the store the sales associate is logged into
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ The distance between stores is calculated using the longitude and latitude stored in the [store details](https://redantdigital.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RET/pages/34734081). The store’s city can also be appended to the store name where this information is available.

Stock availability per store is shown using three statuses:

- **In Stock** – variant stock is 3 or more
- **Low Stock** – variant stock is 1–2
- **Out of Stock** – variant stock is 0

Sales associates can filter the list to show only stores where the variant is currently in stock.

> ℹ️ **Optional configuration:** Exact stock levels for the selected variant can be displayed per store location, where retailers choose to expose detailed inventory quantities.

![image](media://362418d4-0112-4510-9b34-ff83a96a805a)

> ℹ️ The statuses and the variant store stock values that define that status can be configured to meet the retailers needs.

## Variant Selection

Retailers can associate variants to each of their products in the catalogue. This can be used for different sizing, colour, scents, materials, or any other specific features.

From the product details page, the sales associate can view all available product variants via the dropdown.

Each variant will have an associated name (e.g. Small, Medium, Large etc.) and where applicable an associated price (if variant-level pricing is required)

> ℹ️ The order in which the variants are displayed can be configured in the variants data via the `variantOrder`.

### Variant-level pricing

If a retailer has a product in their catalogue where the associated variants are sold at different price points they can provide variant-level pricing within product variants data.

When selecting the variant dropdown you will see all available variants and the associated prices.

![image](media://5900a317-6eaa-4e10-bcb6-98c366d51367)

> ℹ️ When variant-level pricing has been set-up for a product the price will be displayed as a range - for example 'From £309.00 - £311.00. This will be displayed on both the product listing pages (PLP) and product details page (PDP)

### Product Groups

Product groups can be utilised if a retailer wants to combine a set of products that share common attributes into a single product record. For example, a t-shirt that is available in different colours, and therefore has different products images, but is the same price.

> ⚠️ Product groups cannot be used in conjunction with variant-level pricing

## Customer Reviews

Product reviews can be imported and displayed within this dedicated tab on the product details page. Alternatively, we can integrate directly with a third-party feed (e.g. Bazaarvoice) to pull in reviews from your e-commerce site.

## Related Products

The related products tab is designed as a product upsell feature, displaying any products that are frequently purchased alongside the product you are currently viewing, using 'frequently bought together' logic to establish this relationship.

As such, this section is automatically populated and updated based on the contents of the orders placed through RetailOS.

> ℹ️ The moment two products are purchased together, they become 'related' and are eligible to be displayed in the 'Related Products' tab on the respective product details page. This ensures that the related products list dynamically reflects current purchasing patterns and customer behavior.

The related products tab can be adapted to use different logic to define product relationships or simply list a pre-defined set of products. The latter can be useful if you wish to curate a relationship based on a ‘this would go well with’ type algorithm. For example, on the product details page of every suede shoe you could include a suede protector as the related product.

![image](media://b449b04a-d62a-4cd9-9a4e-34329e89270f)

> ℹ️ RetailOS can be integrated with the retailers preferred recommendation engine.
