## Overview

Store Management allows administrators to create, view, and manage stores within the platform without the need for developer intervention. This enables retailers to quickly roll out new stores and expand into new markets.

Stores represent the **commercial execution layer** of the platform hierarchy and define how products, pricing, and operational settings are applied at store level.

> 📝 Access to Store Management is restricted to users with **Admin** or **Super Admin** roles.

## Organisation Hierarchy Context

Stores sit at the lowest level of the platform hierarchy:

- **Territory** → customer data boundary
- **Region** → operational configuration (currency, tax, etc.)
- **Store** → commercial execution (pricing, catalogue, product assortment)

For example:

- **United States (Territory)**
  - **California (Region)**
    - **California Standard Store**
    - **California Outlet Store** (different pricing and catalogue rules)

This structure allows retailers to control how customer data is shared, how configuration is applied, and how products are sold across different locations.

## Store Listing

The store listing provides a searchable and paginated view of all stores configured in the system.

For multi-brand retailers, all stores across all brands will be visible in a single consolidated list.

### Configurable Fields

Users can configure which fields are displayed on store cards/table columns. The available fields are:

- Store Name *(always shown and cannot be hidden)*
- External Store ID
- Region
- Catalogue
- City *(optional)*
- Country *(optional)*
- Timezone *(optional)*

### Filters

The store listing can be filtered using:

- Region *(multi-select)*
- Catalogue *(multi-select)*

### Pagination

The listing displays **30 results per page** by default. If more results are available, a **Load More** option is shown to retrieve the next page.

### Search

Stores can be searched by:

- Store Name
- External Store ID

> ℹ️ A minimum of **3 characters** is required before the search is triggered.

## Creating a Store

Stores can be created directly from the listing.

At a minimum, a store consists of the following fields:

- **Name** *(required - customer-facing store name)*
- **External Store ID** *(required - must be unique)*
- **Region** *(required - defines configuration grouping for stores)*
- **Catalogue** *(required - defines product assortment and pricing rules)*

Additional optional fields include:

- Contact Email *(can be dynamically inserted into the footer of outbound emails or receipts)*
- Address fields (Line 1, Line 2, City, Country, Post Code)
- Longitude / Latitude *(used for store proximity and “find in other stores” features)*
- Timezone *(this is used to accurately display date and time information when generating **[receipts](https://redantdigital.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RET/pages/1410105387)** or **[certificates of authenticity](https://redantdigital.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RET/pages/1461583873)**. Since our servers operate in a fixed timezone, this field allows us to convert server time to the store’s local timezone, ensuring that all date and time stamps reflect the correct local time for the transaction*)
- Store PIN *(numeric, minimum 4 characters, used for re-authentication in customer mode)*
- Calendars *(multi-select, used for appointment booking in consultations)*

> ℹ️ After creating a new store, you will then be able to create and assign sales associates (through ‘[User Management](https://redantdigital.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RET/pages/79593517)’) to the store so they can access the platform.

## Viewing and Editing Stores

Selecting a store from the listing opens the store detail view, where users can view and update all store configuration fields.

All updates are subject to validation rules, including uniqueness of External Store ID and required field completion.
