## Overview

Selecting the customer tile from the dashboard will navigate the sales associate into their client book which collates all customer records within their territory.

### Customer Search

Sales associates can search for customers using the following customer attributes:

- Name (first or last)
- Telephone Number
- Email Address
- Postcode

> ℹ️ User must enter at least 3 characters to perform a customer search.

> 📝 It is recommended to search for a customer before creating a new customer profile to avoid the potential for duplicate records.

The customer look-up is invoked during a number of different journeys throughout RetailOS, including but not limited to:

### My Clients

Within the client book, sales associates have quick access to their most important customers. The client list can be manually curated by the sales associate who can choose to “follow” specific customers from the client book.

> ℹ️ If the retailer already has the concept of a customer having a preferred sales associate defined within their customer data, this information can be passed into the `preferredSalesAssistant` attribute within the `details` section of the customer record. This can then be used to pre-populate sales associates client list.

The client list is ordered alphabetically based on the customer's first name, with the option to initiate a message to the customer.

### Client Activity

Within the client book, sales associates have quick access to view a list of recent activities relating to the customers that they follow.

Client activities can include:

- New purchases
- New products added to wishlist
- New notes added to the customer's profile
- New messages received from the customer

> ℹ️ - Recent Activity list displays the latest 50 collective client activities
> ℹ️ - Each activity has an associated icon (or product image) and displays a time / date stamp to indicate when the activity occurred
> ℹ️ - Client activities are refreshed each time the user accesses the customer book

### Client Reporting

Sales associates can view real-time analytics reports driven specifically by the behaviours of their “followed” clients.

As standard, RetailOS client reporting includes:

- **My Customers Lapsing** – Count chart of total customers who have not purchased within a given timeframe and are therefore “lapsing”. A customer is considered lapsed a year (12 months) after their last purchase, by default RetailOS sets the following milestones:
  - Lapsing in 1 week = customers who last made a purchase 11 months & 3 weeks ago
  - Lapsing in 1 month = customers who last made a purchase 11 months ago
  - Lapsing in 3 months = customers who last made a purchase 9 months ago
  - Lapsing in 6 months = customers who last made a purchase 6 months ago
  - Lapsing in 1 year = customers who made a purchase within the last 6 months
- **My Customers by Loyalty Type** – Bar chart of total customers in each segment (standard loyalty levels are elite, devotee and casuals, however, it’s assumed that this will be customised to be in line with retailer segmentation)
- **My Customers Spend by Loyalty Type** - Bar chart of total spend within each segment
- **My Customers Top Spends** – List chart of highest spenders with quick link to message customer
- **My Customers Top Products by Sales **– List chart of most popular products
- **My Customers Sales by Category** – List chart of highest category spend
